Workplace Story is dedicated to helping people develop effective strategies as they handle their work lives, and to build connections between colleagues, managers and workers in all places.
Who began this site?
Meet Patricia, founder of Workplace Story — a news, features and media project launched as part of the degree requirements for a Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Patricia Bouweraerts is a journalist, graphic designer and educator with 25 years of experience working for public and private organizations. Her experience includes 14 years of teaching in K-8 schools and at the community college level, close to eight years as a graphic designer, and more than four years as a writer and photographer.
Patricia has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Northern Illinois University; associate degree in graphic design from Truckee Meadows Community College, master’s of voice performance from DePaul University, and in May 2016 completed her master’s work at UNR. Her enthusiasm for helping those in the workplace has come from witnessing both challenges and triumphs in the careers of herself and fellow workmates and friends.
She updates the site monthly as a free information service arising from her passion for the subject, and to give back to other working people in the spirit of gratitude.
